Howler Monkeys

Howler monkeys are the largest of the New World monkeys. They are most popular for the loud howls and the howls travel more than one mile through dense rain forest. These monkeys are native to South and Central American forests. Some threats to the species are habitat destruction, and being captured as pets or zoo aniamls.

Canopy

The canopy is 3rd forest floor. This floor is over 100 feet above the ground and it is made up of the overlapping branches and leaves of rainforest trees. Around 60-90 percent of life in the rainforest is found in the trees. This amkes this the richest habitat for plant and animal life. THe Howler Monkey is one of the many animals that lives in the canopy.
